Songs of Experience

Writer - Mark Ward

Genre - Historical Drama

Logline - William Blake wrestles to publish his seminal collection of poems and rise above the political atmosphere of oppression and the fear of imprisonment. 

A subject never dramatised in film or TV, William Blake is widely known as one of the greatest, most influential poets, inspiring such a wide circle of later artists and thinkers such as Jim Morrison, Bob Dylan, Allen Ginsberg, W B Yeats, Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud.

About the Author

Mark Ward is a poet and writer from northern England. He has published a number of books including two poetry collections: Thunder Alley and The Visitor’s Book. He has been the recipient of a number of writers’ awards.

He has appeared as himself on Crossing the Bay Radio 4, Made in England BBC1 and Lakes on a Plate Channel 4. He has also recorded voiceovers for Visit Britain and the Schools National Curriculum. He is now turning his attention to writing screenplays.

Logline -  ‘The Surprise Man’ is an urban myth website that offers a unique proposition: leave your email address and you’ll get a surprise within 24 hours wherever you are. When a student leaves all the email addresses of his group during an overnight school trip in the woods, the Surprise Man will live up to his reputation. 

A cross between Cabin in the Woods, Severance and Attack the Block, 'The Surprise Man' is a gritty British horror tapping into the pervasiveness and perversity of social media, with a twist that is ripe for a franchise.

The Last Great Poet in the House

Genre - Comedy Drama

Logline -   An aspiring young journalist tracks the author of a collection of mysterious sonnets that have gripped the nation to a mental health hospital - only to discover the man believes he is William Shakespeare.

A witty and unconventional portrait of William Shakespeare in the 21st Century. A cross between K-Pax, One Flew of the Cuckoos Nest and Shakespeare in Love, The Last Great Poet in the House is a romantic comedy drama about one man's self-belief, no matter what the reality presented to him.

The Amaranthine

Genre - Magical Social Realism

Logline -   In the middle of nowhere, a small pub is the setting for a mysterious and expensive secret at the stroke of midnight, something that is called ‘The Amaranthine' - where historical personages of the past come to life for 32 seconds. 

A dark and bleak comedy, set in the moors of England, in the vein of Roy Andersson, Yorgos Lanthimos and Charlie Kaufman, 'Amaranthine' is a story of a black hole into the past and the cult that surrounds it, all based in a nondescript quaint English pub.

Mouse Lost in Space

Genre - Comedy Adventure - Animation

Logline -   A mouse finds himself in the one place he shouldn't be - space. 

Peter is a little mouse with a  big dream. He lives with his family in the canteen at NASA and has always wanted to go into space. Then, one day, he finds himself being shot into space in an unmanned satellite. Using his wit and natural inventiveness, Peter must survive the dangers of space, until he meets Oleg, a young Russian astronaut, who could save his life. Gravity meets Ratatouille, Mouse Lost in Space is the story of Peter's adventure to get back to Earth.
